New York’s JFK Airport isn’t a fun place to be the weekend after a bomb cyclone
Image: Rebecca Butala How/Getty ImagesIt's rare for a single airport to make headlines, but that's what happens when a cascading series of events shuts down one of the world's biggest transit hubs. John F. Kennedy International Airport is in a state of disarray on Sunday as nasty weather, blistering cold, and human error conspired to create a logjam that's left travelers stranded and planes grounded or redirected. Not a great mixture for people moving into or out of New

8 Ways Celebs Get Their Bodies Ready For Award Shows
Award shows are about so much more than which movies are worth seeing this year. The 75th Golden Globes were on last night, and ICYMI, almost every woman wore black to show support for the Time's Up movement and Oprah gave the best speech in the history of award show speeches—two important talking points. While we're totally into the all-black wardrobe choice, we're also literally floored by how good everyone looks on the red carpet. Like, aside from their

Man Rushes To Hospital When Pregnant Girlfriend Goes Into Labor And Discovers She’s Lied About Everything
It is one thing to conceive a child, but it is something else entirely to physically give birth. Whether you’re a mother or father, the moment your offspring is delivered into the world, everything changes. But for one father, the happiest moment of his life was to be cruelly destroyed when he arrived at the hospital to find that the quintuplets he’d been expecting with his girlfriend never existed in the first place. Paul Servat believed that his girlfriend

Shes Not Crazy, Shes Hurt
Joshua Rawson-Harris She’s allowed to feel hurt and sad because you screwed her over. She’s allowed to scream. She’s is allowed to acknowledge her pain and heartache that you caused. Maybe if you hadn’t abruptly walked out of her life without a reason or explanation she wouldn’t be as hurt. Just maybe had you told her the truth instead of ignoring her, she wouldn’t be so pissed off. But you did and she’s entitled to feel the pain and

Criticizing actresses who didn’t wear black to the Golden Globes is part of the problem.
With so many stars decked out in black for this year's Golden Globes, it was hard not to notice actress Blanca Blanco's bold splash of red. The  all-black look, adopted as part of the Time's Up campaign to end workplace harassment, became a sort of de facto red carpet uniform. Many of the night's guests adopted a more conservative look compared to years past, transforming the often obnoxious (and occasionally sexist) "Who are you wearing?" type of questions into

As David Lettermans first Netflix guest, Barack Obama warns against the bubble of social media
David Letterman seems to be taking the title of his new Netflix show very seriously: On the very first episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, he’s joined by former U.S. President Barack Obama. The episode has plenty of funny moments, like Obama ribbing Letterman about his nearly Biblical beard. But they cover substantive political topics, too — not just during the onstage interview, but also in Letterman’s walk across Selma’s famous Edmund Pettus Bridge

In China, ivory is officially so last year. On December 31, 2017, the Chinese government shut down all of its remaining domestic ivory trade, meaning one of the world’s largest consumers of ivory is no longer legally selling and purchasing ivory. Poaching is one of the biggest threats facing African elephants, resulting in the slaughter of 30,000 elephants each year. Combined with habitat destruction, poaching has devastated population numbers in recent history. Over the past 100 years, the number of African

Smart lock maker Otto suspends operations
Otto showed the world its digital lock in August. Four months later, the company has suspended operations. Hardware is hard. It’s a cliche for a reason. The company made the decision just ahead of the holidays, a fact that founder and CEO Sam Jadallah recently made public with a lengthy Medium post now pinned to the top of the startup’s site. The extended survey of the Bay Area company’s short life is punctuated with the pithy title, “So Close,”
